Plugfest

patch The Plugfest takes place September 21-23, 2014, and provides an opportunity to test and demonstrate device and system interoperability and resolve compatibility issues. Implementers are invited and encouraged to cooperate with others to demonstrate system-wide clock synchronization and operation of protocols across as wide a spectrum of devices as possible.

Registration

Prospective Plugfest participants must fill out the Plugfest Registration Form and email the completed form to ispcs-plugfest@iiss.at about their intention to participate.

Please note, that each Plugfest participant also has to register for the main conference.

Organization

Participants in the Plugfest will hold one or more phone meetings to determine Plugfest and demonstration criteria prior to the event. Registered participants will be informed by the Plugfest chair(s).

Profiles to be tested at this year's Plugfest are:

  • IEEE 1588 Default Profile J.3, end-to-end delay measurement
  • IEEE 1588 Default Profile J.4, peer-to-peer delay measurement
  • Power Profile over Ethernet
  • Power Profile over PRP/HSR
  • Telecom Profile for Time and Phase with full on-path support (ITU G.8275.1)
  • IEEE 802.1AS
  • SMPTE Profile for IEEE 1588
We will also test experimental implementations of new PTP features under discussion in the IEEE 1588 Working Group. Suggestions for other tests are welcome.

Plugfest viewing

During a special viewing session at the end of the Plugfest, conference participants will have the opportunity to talk to the companies and engineers attending the Plugfest.
